Dr Michael Freeman

Michael D Freeman PhD MPH DC
Forensic Epidemiologist

Dr. Michael Freeman is a Forensic Epidemiologist specializing in the application of probability and epidemiologic data to forensic venues. He serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine, Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, where he teaches a course in Forensic and Trauma Epidemiology. Dr. Freeman is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine and Epidemiology at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Aarhus, Denmark. He holds a Ph.D. in public health with a focus in epidemiology from Oregon State University, as well as a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in biostatistics and epidemiology, also from OSU. Dr. Freeman is originally trained as a chiropractor, and practiced in this capacity for 15 years.

Dr. Freeman has more than 100 published scientific papers, books, and book chapters on forensic applications of epidemiology, crash-related injuries and death, crash reconstruction, medical diagnostics, chronic pain mechanisms, regenerative joint therapy utilizing stem cell therapy, and a variety of other areas of interest. He has a number of publications on the identification of logical fallacy and junk science in expert testimony for the legal profession.

He has served in US, Canadian, European and Australian courts as an expert in a variety of fields including injury and death litigation, product liability, toxic tort litigation, tobacco litigation, medical negligence, as well as both prosecution and defense expert in a number of homicide cases.

Dr Skogs

Dennis Skogsbergh, DC, DACBR, DACBO

Dr. Skogsbergh graduated summa cum laude and has been in active practice for over 44 years. He spent 10 years associated with the Texas Back Institute in Plano, Texas, devoted to interdisciplinary care of complex spine cases. He is board certified in both orthopedics and radiology, and has provided musculo-skeletal imaging expertise for local diagnostic imaging centers and more distant support using tele-radiology resources. He served as chairman of the Departments of Diagnostic Imaging and Clinical Orthopedics at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, IL; heading residency training programs in both of these specialty tracks. Throughout his career, Dr. Skogsbergh has traveled world-wide teaching postgraduate seminars in radiology, clinical orthopedics, and sports medicine to mixed audiences. He has been the principal instructor and advisor for the clinical orthopedics program offered by NUHS; the longest, continuously running post-graduate program in the chiropractic profession.

His research contributions while at the NUHS included projects related to manipulation skills, anatomical/MRI correlations, comparison of oblique cervical MRI, and anatomical portrayal of intra-foraminal ligaments. The results of all these projects have been published in various peer-reviewed journals. His most recent publications include chapters on the lumbar spine and imaging in two textbooks.

Dr Anna

Anna Allen RN, MSN, CLNC

After attending Anna K. Allen's program, your doctors will be armed with all the information they need to tackle timely subjects. Ms. Allen will engage your audience with real live practical issues that confront doctors of chiropractic.

Ms. Allen, NCMIC professional relations representative, received her BSN in nursing from Grandview College and her master's degree in Nursing Education and Administration from Drake University.

Prior to joining NCMIC, Ms. Allen was a medical fraud analyst supervisor for Unisys Corporation, head nurse/outreach coordinator/educator at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, and emergency department R.N. Her specialties included care of the psychiatric and emergency room patient.

She has conceived, planned and presented workshops nationally on health care fraud and care of chronically ill patients and given hundreds of other presentations throughout the U.S. Ms. Allen is an adjunct professor for post graduate education at National University of Health Sciences, and an adjunct assistant professor to the postgraduate and continuing education faculty of the New York Chiropractic College.

Dr Mario Fucinari

Mario P. Fucinari DC, CCSP, MCS-P

Dr. Mario Fucinari, a Certified Insurance Consultant and Certified Medical Compliance Specialist, will teach you the standards, methods and red flags you need to know to improve your documentation skills.  Included in this event, material will be presented on physical diagnosis, documentation of rehabilitation and low-tech rehabilitation techniques.  Dr. Fucinari is a full-time practitioner.  He has helped train doctors and staff over the last 23 years. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1986. After graduating from Palmer College, Dr. Fucinari completed studies in chiropractic orthopedics and attained his certification as a chiropractic sports physician, and a Certified Insurance Consultant. Mario was the first chiropractor to attain the certification as a Medical Compliance Specialist (MCS-P).  Dr. Fucinari is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Practitioners. He currently practices full time in Decatur, Illinois.  Dr. Mario was the recipient of the 1998 and the 2003 President’s Awards from the Illinois Chiropractic Society for his work with education and training.  He is the immediate past president of the Illinois Chiropractic Society (ICS) and the current ICS Medicare chairman.  He has produced classes and publications on HIPAA, Clinical Documentation and Coding, Medicare, and Stroke and Cervical Manipulation. He is on faculty and post-graduate faculty at Logan College of Chiropractic.  He is a national speaker for NCMIC, Foot Levelers and several state associations. His colorful and outgoing personality guarantees an entertaining presentation, while his program will help provide up-to-the-minute information.

Dr Banks

 

Scott D. Banks DC

Dr. Scott D. Banks' entertaining, up-to-the-minute programs blend theory with practice. His forum is open and relaxed, and his humor and literary background make him a commonly requested speaker. Your doctors will leave Dr. Banks' program with an increased understanding of the pathophysiology and an up-to-date literature review.

Dr. Banks is a graduate of the State University of New York at Alfred University and of Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis. Dr. Banks was licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine in 1977 and has been in active practice in Virginia ever since. He has been on the postgraduate faculty of Logan College of Chiropractic for the past 20 years and has been a postgraduate instructor for seven other chiropractic institutions as well as for the Chiropractic Rehabilitation Association. He authored the rehabilitation guidelines on the lumbar spine and on scoliosis for that organization.

Dr. Banks has taught in the chiropractic orthopedics certification, chiropractic rehabilitation, and sports injuries programs for the past 15 years. He has presented lectures on spine topics to the American College of Sports Medicine, the Southern Medical Association, the Northern Virginia Society for Continuing Medical Education, the Maryview Hospital Pain Management Program, the Lovelace Medical System, and the St. Johns Health System. He has also served as an alternative medicine preceptor for the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Dr. Banks has published numerous papers on spine topics and has been a contributing author to two textbooks. He currently publishes the chiropractic research summary course eSpine on the continuing education website DCeducation.com.
